Tom Schear has worked in the human services field since 1977 at all levels of responsibility including front line counselor, clinical supervisor, and program director. In addition to his Ph.D. in social work and his M.A. in counseling, he is also a graduate of Coach University and has participated in innumerable workshops, seminars, and other training. Tom is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), and a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC). His counseling experience includes marriage and family, relationships, substance abuse, and mental health. In recent years, he has been operating his own business (CCMS, Inc.) providing continuing education services to helping professionals, as well as coaching and counseling services from his home via telephone and online chat. Tom combines his experiential and educational background with his own intuition, humor, and sensitivity to help clients recognize and eliminate the barriers that are preventing them from having the life they want. He now resides in the same town he grew up in - Alexander, Iowa. Tom lives with his wife (Kathy), two cats (Sam & Misty) and a dog (Solo). In his free time, he enjoys visiting his grown sons (Brian & Steven), fishing, bicycling, hiking, and hunting.
